Alyssa Steenbergen, MA, AMFT, is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Development and Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology at the University of California, Davis. Later, she received her Master’s Degree at Hope International University. Alyssa’s passion for helping others began early in her life as she witnessed individuals struggle to thrive within her home and community, often due to mental health struggles. Over the years, Alyssa gained a deeper understanding of the impact that anxiety and early experiences can have on a person’s life and well-being, both professionally and personally. She is committed to help many others conquer the cycle of fear and anxiety and complete their therapy journey equipped to lead more fulfilling lives.
Throughout her schooling and early clinical experiences, her passion for working with those with anxiety-related disorders, phobias, and OCD developed. In her clinical work, Alyssa will sometimes utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support clients. She is also deeply committed to prioritizing the client-therapist relationship, creating a welcoming space for every client, and co-creating personalized treatment plans that facilitate meaningful progress in their lives.
